Consultation on the proposed increase of community places - Foundation Nursery

We are hoping to increase the number of community place Nursery from 26 to 30 places. Please see below the consultation letter.

Context

Stubbin Wood Nursery has a 26 place community nursery in both the morning and afternoon session. We also currently offer a limited number of 30 hours placed provision.

Proposal

Over the past 2 years we have seen a year on year increase of parents presenting a 30 hours code. In order to meet this demand we would like to increase our provision form 26 to 30 places.

Staff

Staffing is already above the statutory staff to pupil ratio required for the number of children in session at any given time.

Funding

The Authority receives funding from the Government, in the form of Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG), for all children who have reached the age of 3 by the 31 December prior to the January School Census. These children are currently eligible for a maximum of 15 hours of free early year’s provision. The children who receive the free statutory 15 hours will continue to so and their entitlement will not be affected.

Consultation

The consultation on this proposal will be for two weeks from 7th January 2019.

This consultation document will be available on request from the Clerk to the Governors at the address and e-mail address below, and is available on the school’s website and at www.derbyshire.gov.uk

Any comments, observations or objections should be sent to the Head teacher of Stubbin Wood School.

The deadline for receiving responses to this consultation is 19.1.19
