There are many sources of advice and guidance to support your choices. We will help you in school and we also encourage you to do some independent research.
The DEBP offers people on-line careers support through its DIRECTIONS online career programme. This is highly recommended as a great source of local information. www.debp.org
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) provides a range of support to help young people and adults move forward into work or stay in work. You can click on the following link to check your eligibility and entitlements: https://www.gov.uk/access-to-work. You might like to watch the video (below) which has lots of user friendly information about how to apply for Access to Work funding and support.
Making the transition from school to higher education or an apprenticeship/work can be challenging, the Disabled Student Helpline provides information and advice to disabled students and apprentices, parents and/or carers and professionals working with disabled students and apprentices on a range of issues. Disabled Students Helpline is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 am and 1pm.
MENCAP provide information and guidance on a wide range of topics that are important to you and it is certainly helpful to look at their website.
