We have given online safety it's own page on our website because it's such a big area. At Stubbin Wood, we work with Secure Schools, an organisation specialising in training staff so that they are aware of the risks and their responsibilities as well as advising on our infrastructure to reduce the risk of any potential cyber attack.
It's a worrying area for parents and carers (as well as young people too) because it can be sophisticated and sneakily clever. Most importantly, don't be worried about talking about online safety with your child and be prepared to take command if you need to. The following sources of information should provide you with extra help to do this.

ThinkuKnow is a national charity led by the National Crime Agency’s CEOP Command. There is a wealth of information available to parents and young people on the ThinkuKnow website. There are activity packs, information links and videos to help you talk through tricky issues such as sharing sexual selfies images online. Videos are offered in a range of formats to enable accessibility. |

NSPCC Parents Safe online. It can be hard to know how to talk to your child about online safety. From setting up parental controls to advice on sexting, online games and video apps, we can help you to understand the risks and keep your child safe. |

Childline have developed resources to help children in the most supportive way. They recognise that it’s not always easy to know what’s safe online and what’s not. Their advice can help your child keep safe and to know what to do when things go wrong. |
