This document is reviewed regularly and changes are made to reflect developments in guidance from the Government.

Update 20 January 2022
It is a relief for all of us that virus experts are reporting a reduction in the risks posed to us all by Covid-19. As a school, we consider that our busy classrooms and corridors continue to offer a risk of virus transmission, we have students and staff who are unvaccinated, and so we have decided to stick to our cautious approach. This means that we are working to the expectations set out in our Risk Assessment and staff will continue to wear face masks in corridors, work within their groups and rigorous cleaning routines will continue.
We will continue to ask the Central team to work from home and any essential visitors to site will follow our signing in procedures. The purpose of visit for essential visitors will continue to need to be approved by the Associate Principal before entering site.
We are keen to return to fling open our doors and to find normality, but we believe, with our children's wellbeing at the heart of our thoughts, that we need to wait a little longer before dropping our guard. We will continue to keep you updated.

Please see below an update from the Trust regarding visitors on site.
Update, Tuesday 30 November - Omicron variant, update
The recent Government announcements regarding the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 have been worrying. We would like to reassure you that we are continuing to work within the guidelines set out within our Risk Assessment to keep our schools open (currently Version 13). In addition to the 'hands, face, space' expectations, staff continue to wear masks whilst moving around the school site and we continue to operate in groups, discouraging movement around the school site whilst non-essential visitors are currently not permitted. I anticipate that this will have an impact on our proposed arrangements for inviting parents on to the site but I'm sure that you would prefer us to take this more rigid approach to ensure that our most vulnerable students are as safe as possible. Please be assured that we are ready to respond rapidly if necessary.
Update, Tuesday 30 November - COVID-19 vaccination booster programme expansion and second dose of vaccines for 12–15-year-olds
Following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), the government yesterday announced an expansion of the Covid-19 vaccination booster programme to include all adults aged 18 to 39 years. Government has also confirmed that all young people aged 12 to 15 in England will be offered a second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
This follows on from recent announcement that people aged over 40, and those aged 16 and 17, can book their boosters and second doses online via the NHS.
The JCVI has urgently reviewed vaccine response measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant and has issued advice recommending:
JCVI has said: “Optimising individual protection ahead of a wave of infection will provide the largest benefit in terms of reducing the impact of the Omicron variant on the UK population. Additional data regarding the Omicron variant will take some time to accrue. Waiting for such data before taking some actions risks a suboptimal delayed response.”
Speaking at the Downing Street press briefing yesterday, deputy chief medical officer for England Professor Jonathan Van Tam urged that people should not panic: “If vaccine effectiveness is reduced, as seems pretty likely to some extent, the biggest effects are likely to be in preventing infections and hopefully there will be smaller effects on preventing severe disease."
The government accepted JCVI’s advice in full. Health and Social Care Secretary, Sajid Javid gave an oral statement to Parliament on the Omicron variant and the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
