    Parent & Carer Partnerships

At Stubbin Wood School & Nursery we firmly believe in parents/carers being a child's first and most important educator. We value the relationships we have with our parents and actively encourage them to work in partnership with us.

Parents can expect daily communication with their child's class team through the use of Dojo. At the end of day, a shared update on what the class have been up to will be posted alongside regular individual posts about individual children. Weekly and termly overviews of learrning are shared through Dojo so that parents/carers have a good understanding of what children and young people will be learning and experiencing. We love sharing a good photo but will only do so if you give permission.

Whilst staff will provide regular communication about a child's progress and we will facilitate discussions at your request throughout the year, there are set dates for opportunity to discuss children's progress through a more formal approach at our biannual Parent/Carers' evenings. For parents/carers who do not live locally, we offer the option of an appointment via telephone or online. EHCP Annual Review meetings can also be held on site or virtually.

For parents/carers needing to meet with external agencies and specialist professionals, we have dedicated spaces to meet in private.

Our coffee mornings (sometimes held during afternoons) are an opportunity for parents/carers to come together in a relaxed and informal manner to discuss all things SEND or just have a chance to relax and switch off before the afternoon pickup!

We host several events throughout the school year to which we warmly welcome parents/carers. Many of these are organised by The Friends of Stuibbin Wood.

    Friends of Stubbin Wood

We have the most wonderful group of parents/carers and community supporters who help to raise funds for the school's charity: ‘Friends of Stubbin Wood’. This terrific group of hard-working volunteers support the funding of various adventures and resources throughout the year, and we are indebted to them for what they achieve for our children and young people.

The Group have a Craft Facebook page, advertising items they have made and offering a service to make ‘bespoke’ pieces for individuals. For more information, please contact Pat Lyons or Nic Lafferty, at the school.
