      Published 28/11/25

We’re delighted to share that this year’s Christmas Fayre at Stubbin Wood School was a huge success!

Visitors enjoyed a wide range of stalls, from tombolas and handmade crafts created by our talented pupils, to beautiful festive items from external providers, including Christmas wreaths and gifts.

The highlight of the day was a mischievous visit from The Grinch, bringing plenty of laughs, and of course, the magical opportunity for children to meet Santa and his elves in his cosy Grotto🎅

A huge thank you to Friends of Stubbin Wood for organising and coordinating such a fantastic event. Your hard work and dedication made the day truly special for our students, families, and wider community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and contributed, we couldn’t do it without you.

    • Kindness Hearts

      Published 24/11/25

The Chesterfield FC Knit and Natter group asked for the support of our Chesterfield pupils as part of their annual mental health initiative. The group had knitted more than 2,000 hearts and invited our students to attach a positive message to each one before helping to distribute them around the stadium in preparation for match day. With only three days to complete the project, the students worked brilliantly as a team and rose to the challenge.

On the final day, students joined staff from Chesterfield Football Club to place the hearts on seats throughout the stadium for fans to discover. While they were working, the team manager approached the group to share how impressed he was with their efforts. As a thank-you, he arranged for the students to meet several players and have a group photo taken.

    • Chesterfield FC Football Match

      Published 17/11/25

On Tuesday 7th October, several students from Chesterfield Class 2 had the exciting opportunity to stay after school and watch the Chesterfield FC vs. Burton Albion match. The evening began with some relaxed social time, where the group chose to play team games such as table football and table tennis. This gave everyone a chance to unwind, have fun together, and build their teamwork skills before heading to the stadium.

Before the match, the students discussed meal options and voted on what they would like to eat. They settled on a crowd-pleasing combination of pizza and jacket potatoes. Working together, the group laid the table, enjoyed their meal, and then took responsibility for cleaning up, showing great cooperation and independence throughout.

When it was time for kick-off, the students took their seats in the stands, sitting together to enjoy the atmosphere of a live football match. They cheered passionately for Chesterfield, chatted excitedly with one another, and soaked up the buzz around the ground.

Their enthusiasm was rewarded when Chesterfield secured a 1–0 victory. It was a fantastic evening filled with teamwork, socialising, and plenty of football spirit.
