All children and young people have the right to basic skills and that no child leaves school without being equipped to face the challenges that he or she can expect to be confronted with in life under Articles 28 & 29 of the UN Convention on Rights of a Child (UNCRC)
Maths at Stubbin Wood
The aim of our maths curriculum:
- develop functional skills in mathematics and the ability to use in everyday life
- enable pupils to develop conceptual understanding and the ability to recall and apply knowledge accurately
- to reason and solve problems by applying their mathematics to a variety of routine problems with increasing sophistication, including breaking down problems into a series of simpler steps and persevering in seeking solutions
- to use mathematical vocabulary effectively
